Design Technologies Manager - LPA - CA

The Design Technologies Manager is a critical part of LPA’s Information and Technology team, which supports and develops the workflows and digital tools used by integrated design teams at LPA. This is accomplished through collaboration, with architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects, on the use of building information modeling (BIM), computer aided design (CAD) and project information management (PIM) platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Engage integrated design teams with development of interdisciplinary BIM strategies
  • Help develop, document and communicate interdisciplinary BIM Project Plans
  • Collaborate with integrated design teams to develop energy analysis workflows
  • Setup and monitor the effective development of CAD and BIM based projects
  • Create and direct organization of CAD and BIM content and templates
  • Research, evaluate and recommend emerging design technologies
  • Coordinate vendors, resellers and trainers
  • Optimizing remote office CAD and BIM experience.
Requirements
  • Work experience in a medium to large sized architectural, engineering or construction firm
  • Passion for great customer service
  • Expert knowledge of Revit Building Design Suite and content creation
  • Intermediate knowledge of SketchUp and AutoCAD
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Associate Mechanical Designer - DME Alliance Inc - Allentown PA

DME Alliance Inc, have an immediate opportunity is available for an Associate Mechanical Designer to provide equipment design services for projects executed from DME’s office or a Client site, working within a team structure or individually, depending on the project requirements. Applicant will assist in the design services for facility design projects with development of systems drawings, Air Flow Diagrams, duct and utilities design and equipment specifications.

The position will require the assistance in developing conceptual designs for HVAC and utility systems in new and existing facilities as well as completed field surveys of facilities to document dimensions and location of installed equipment and services. Applicant will develop Revit based models for multidiscipline design efforts. Position requires occasional travel in support of project activities. Preferred applicant will have experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Requirements:
  • Appropriate training from a technical school. Architectural, Mechanical or Electrical disciplines preferred.
  • 0-5 years design experience with facilities systems and utilities for manufacturing and industrial facilities.
  • Willingness to learn cGMP regulatory requirements for regulated industries.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems design.
  • Experience with primary plant equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning is preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Strong Revit skills.

BIM Engineer - Children's Hospital Colorado

Title: BIM Engineer
Department: Property Planning
Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits

Job Overview
Responsible for management of all Children's Hospital Colorado building-related information. This person will work closely with internal department Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) Project Managers and with external architects, engineers and contractors to ensure all documentation is current and accurate. This person must stay current in their knowledge, so as to advise Children’s in best-practice decisions regarding how best to use building information models to support planning, design, construction, and facility management.

The role requires an expert level of BIM modeling ability, and a thorough understanding of how backend data can be managed within and extracted from a BIM model. The BIM Engineer will advise on how to develop internal model families, and manage external BIM families. The BIM Engineer will manage Properties within a BIM Facilities model that will be used by Children’s to support strategic planning initiatives and specific department’s needs. The BIM Engineer will work closely with external BIM modelers, auditing and verifying their work follows Children’s BIM protocols.

Qualifications
  • Advanced to Expert skill level using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Bachelor degree required. Preferred disciplines include information technology, business, engineering, or architecture
  • 5 years experience in Building Information Modeling
  • Experience coordinating, managing, and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative planning and problem solving skills. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to present information and interact effectively with management at all levels of the organziaton (medical and non-medical staff)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills

Hours/Full or Part-Time: We offer flexible hours for this position. All positions are hourly. This position is estimated at 40 hours/week.
