Tesser, an award-winning, San Francisco-based brand strategy and design firm, is looking to find a contract draftsperson/designer who is skilled at either VectorWorks or Revit and can work for 40 hours/week, on-site for 6-8 weeks.

Our ideal candidate is experienced with at least one of the major architectural focused 3D/2D applications (e.g. VectorWorks Architect, Revit, ArchiCAD, etc; highly experienced AutoCAD users will also be considered). We are a tight-knit, hard-working agency with exciting national-level brand imaging projects specifically focused in consumer goods and restaurant/retail design. We design the next generation of stores for national and global blue-chip clients, like Wendy’s, Chili’s, Ben & Jerry’s, Musco Family Olive Company, and KFC.

About You
You have played a successful role at past agencies or architecture firms, either full-time or as a contractor, creating technical, design intent drawings using drafting software. You have 3-5 years experience creating both interior and exterior 3D renderings in a professional setting, preferably for large, national retail or restaurant concepts, and you understand the production, codification and notation of drawing packages. You have a keen eye for details and strong overall design sense. You are knowledgeable about building materials and have contributed to/handled material selection in the past. Your background may include commercial or residential architecture or interior design. You are comfortable using a variety of design programs for three dimensional sketching and color-rendering, from Photoshop to Illustrator to 3D architectural modeling software (VectorWorks and/or Revit required). You are a self-starter, extremely detail-oriented and maintain a professional demeanor throughout the entire design/production process. You have a BFA or BS in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Industrial Design or Architecture. A background in architecture and/or the ability to draw freehand would be big pluses.

About the Position
As a Drafting Contractor at Tesser, you will work under the guidance of the Creative Director and Senior Environment Designer to develop 3D Design Intent Drawing packages for a large, national restaurant chain client. In addition, you will contribute to materials selection (researching materials, ordering samples, etc.). You will work on-site at Tesser’s downtown San Francisco office full time for 6-8 weeks, depending on project duration. The opportunity to join as a full-time, permanent employee is a possibility.

Revit Structure Position Wanted - TX

I was contacted recently by a person with ten years of structural detailing experience. The motivation for making a change is being driven by a desire to get to use Revit Structure. He is convinced that it's the direction he wants to take and he recently chose to undertake and complete a three day training class with ECAD in Houston on his own dime.

If your firm is interested in a motivated (even bi-lingual) guy that will combine his experience with his desire to keep moving forward with technology let me know and I'll make the introduction. He is currently in the greater Houston area and would like to stay in the area but he is open to considering a compelling opportunity elsewhere.

Position requirements

Experience with Revit MEP & NavisWorks
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Knowledge of electrical construction and installation means and methods
Ability to identify cost savings and prefabrication opportunities
Minimum five years of relevant work experience preferably with an electrical contractor

If you are interested please contact Tom Thistleton at tthistleton@besco.com.

Revit Programmer

I've been contacted about an opportunity for a Revit savvy programmer. It is a short term assignment to create a single application (to manage creating local files) but the right person could find themselves with more work or possibly a full time gig, if that's attractive. The firm is international but the primary people you'll work with for this gig are in the USA.

Let me know if you are interested in tackling the assignment and I'll make the introductions. You will be asked to respond to their RFP (request for proposal).

The first test is to see if you can figure out how to contact me. ;)
