Design Technologies Coordinator - LPA - CA

LPA seeks a Design Technologies Coordinator. You can be a critical part of LPA’s Information and Technology team, which supports and helps develop the workflows and digital tools used by designers at LPA. This is accomplished through collaboration, with architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects, on the use of building information modeling (BIM), computer aided design (CAD) and project information management (PIM) platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Promote technology related initiatives including BIM adoption
  • Develop, document and communicate best practices
  • Help develop, document and communicate better work flows
  • Setup and monitor the development of CAD and BIM based projects
  • Create and organize digital content and templates
  • Conduct software and workflow training
  • Conduct new employee orientations
  • Research, evaluate and recommend emerging design technologies
  • Support plotting and printing from BIM, CAD and PIM platforms
  • Contribute ideas across the information & technology team
  • Coordinate vendors, resellers and trainers
  • Maintain software compliance
Requirements
  • Work experience in a medium to large sized architectural, engineering or construction firm
  • Passion for great customer service
  • Expert knowledge of SketchUp and AutoCAD Architecture
  • Intermediate knowledge of Revit Building Design Suite and content creation
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D and 3DS Max Design
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proven ability to thrive in highly collaborative environments
  • Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects
  • Ability to conduct limited amounts of travel
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Newforma Project Center, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, SpecLink-e, Ecotect, EnergyPro, Green Building Studio and SharePoint
  • Experience in the practice of architecture or engineering
  • Knowledge of licensing hardware and software
  • Computer networking experience
  • Experience with aligning hardware and software requirements
  • Software deployment and hardware imaging
  • Knowledge of Lisp and C#
