BIM Manager - Lake Flato Architects - TX

Lake|Flato Architects is a nationally recognized architectural design firm based in San Antonio, Texas. Lake Flato is seeking a BIM Manager to provide support and education for users of Revit Architecture at the firm. The primary responsibility of L|F’s BIM Manager is to maintain our current BIM structure, facilitate consistency across project types, implement staff development training, and promote the effective and efficient use of BIM on all projects.

Qualifications Include
  • Bachelor of Architecture
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the AEC industry, preferably in an architectural office
  • Minimum five years of experience working in Revit Architecture in a production, administrative and/or support capacity on projects
  • Must possess expert knowledge in Revit Family creation
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of professional architectural services from master planning and schematic design through construction documents and construction administration, including design and technical experience
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be highly organized
  • Must have teaching and mentoring experience for in house training
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to prioritize Must be a team-player and able to adapt to various team structures working independently and as part of a larger group
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and rendering software preferred
  • Experience with Newforma, Navisworks, Lumion and Green Building Studio preferred
  • Knowledge of API customization preferred
Responsibilities Include
  • Develop, document and communicate best practices of BIM technologies, including model sharing and coordination with other disciplines
  • Instruct/assist project teams to properly set up their models to comply with office standards and best practices
  • Manage Revit standards, family content, and office templates
  • Engage with project teams to strategize, employ and maintain an effective BIM strategy for project deliverables
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for beginners and continuing education for users of all levels
  • Work with internal sustainability team to integrate effective sustainability software into office, particularly interfacing with Revit (i.e. IES, Autodesk Green Building Studio & Vasari)
  • Coordinate Autodesk software updates and software service packs
